The LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Discovery Book is now available on Kindle. It’s also available as a PDF or EPub.
You can get the Kindle edition directly from Amazon. Instead you can buy the “Ebook Bundle” from the publisher. The package includes a PDF file (Computer/iPad), a Mobi file (Kindle), and an Epub (Sony reader / iPad) file.
If you’re looking for the low Amazon price (only $13.79!), but you don’t have a Kindle, you can read it on your computer with the Kindle for PC program.
This is great news for those who were previously unable to get this book in their country. If you try any of the e-book formats, let me know how it goes.
Any chance the e-book download will be made available to those of us that have already purchased the print copy? I expect that is wishful thinking, but I have to admit that I really enjoy using e-books on the iPad.
If you got the book from Amazon and you buy the Kindle version now, which totals slightly more than $30, you’re at the same price of the book + ebook bundle.
However, I recommend the PDF for use on the iPad. It is exactly the same as the real book. The other formats have a simplified layout because of limitations of these reader devices.
Any chance that the PDF version could be done in colour? If so, I would buy it in a second!

I ended up buying the e-book anyway. I consider your book to be ‘required reading’ to learn how to use Lego Mindstorms and being able to carry it around with me on my iPad will come in handy.
There are are a couple of problems with the PDF version that you should know about though. (I emailed No Starch Press just now, but I just though you should know too). The PDF version doesn’t seem to include any of the corrections listed on http://robotsquare.com/books/discovery/updates-errata/
whereas my hard copy has these corrections.
Also, the PDF is missing the (colour) quick building reference chart on the inside front cover of the book, and the parts list on the inside back cover of the book.
Hopefully this will be any easy thing for the publisher to correct, and hopefully I’ll be able to download an updated version of the e-book in the near future.

Thanks for your feedback on the digital editions. I originally didn’t want an e-book unless they made a color version, but they were not able to do that.
Unfortunately they didn’t ask me to review these files before putting them online, so I was just as disappointed when I found out they used the first print of the book to make the digital one.
Thanks for pointing out that the reference charts are missing. I’ll ask if they can include them in the PDF.
